Election Commission Of Pakistan Invites Nominations For By-poll In One NA, Nine PK Constituencies

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in pursuance of section 73 and 102 of the Elections Act, 2107 has called upon the electors to nominate their candidates for one National Assembly and nine constituencies of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for by-polls.

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Aug, 2018 ) :The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in pursuance of section 73 and 102 of the Elections Act, 2107 has called upon the electors to nominate their candidates for one National Assembly and nine Constituencies of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for by-polls.

A notification issued here Friday that the returning officer would issue public notice on August 27, while submission of papers would start from August 28 and would continue till August 30.

It said that by-polls in the constituencies were being held as these became vacant due to death of contesting candidates, resignation under Article 223 and postponement under Articles 218(3) of the Constitution.

The constituencies included NA-35 Bannu, PK-3 Swat-II, PK-7 Swat-IV, PK-44, Swabi-II, PK-53 Mardan-VI, PK-61 Nowshera-I, PK-64 Nowshera-IV, PK78 Peshawar-XIII, PK-97 DIKhan-III and PK-99 DIKhan-V.
