Fata Leaders Welcome Cabinet's Approval Of Fata Reforms Committee's Recommendations

PESHAWAR Mar 2 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 02nd Mar, 2017 ) : The leaders of FATA here Thursday welcomed the Federal Cabinet's approval to the recommendations of the Fata Reforms Committee (FRC) and termed it a significant step forward to bring Fata into mainstream of life.
Sajid Hussain Tori, Member National Assembly (MNA) from Kurram Agency (NA 37) told APP on Thursday that approval to FRC recommendations by the Federal Cabinet today was a praiseworthy and landmark decision of the Federal Government that would go long way to end long deprivation of tribesmen and bring Fata into mainstream of life.
He said people of Fata had an immense love for Pakistan and their sacrifice/patriotism for the country was not a secret. He said reforms in tribal areas were the need of the hour and the government deserved full appreciation for granting approval to the recommendations of FRC.
The people of Fata are thankful to Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his government for making the dreams of Fata people comes true besides fulfilling yet another promise. He said replacement of the existing draconian law of Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR) with the new "Tribal Areas Rewaj Act besides political and judicial reforms would help provide speedy and inexpensive justice to litigants.
Tori said tribal people had suffered a lot during last 70 years and time has come to implement the reforms with speed for their socio-economic development besides expediting development activities in Fata to bring it at par with developed parts of the country.
Former KP Governor Engr Shaukat Ullah also hailed the decisions of Federal Cabinet for granting approval to the recommendations of FRC and termed it a right decision in the prevailing situation.
He suggested quick implementation of the reforms and abolition of FCRs. He demanded amendments in Article 246 and 247 of the Constitution, which deal with Fata and abolition of Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR), which would help provide speedy justice to litigants besides ending the long years of neglect.
Azmat Alizai, a local journalist of Parachinar also welcomed approval of FRCs by the Cabinet and termed a historic decision of the government. He said the implementation of the FRC recommendations would help mainstreaming FATA besides ending the poverty, backwardness and will expedite pace of development.
He said no justification was left now with people and politicians to make hue and cry following approval of the recommendations by the Federal Cabinet. He said Fata reforms were the long standing demands of tribal areas people that were was fulfilled today by the PMLN Government.
He said he merger of Fata with Khyber Pakthunkhwa was the best solution in the prevailing situation. Alizai said said merger of FATA of KP was the best solution keeping in view the close horizontal linkages of the tribal agencies and frontier regions besides social, linguistic and cultural norms and tradition of tribesmen and people of Khyber Pakthunkhwa.
He said most of the officers serving in Fata belonged to Khyber Pakthunkhwa who knows the customs, culture, history and traditions of people of tribal areas well, saying the approval of reforms has started a dawn of new era of progress and prosperity in Fata.
