Labour Dept. Working With Stakeholders To Implement Labour Laws: Minister

Sindh Minister for Labour and Human Resources Ghulam Murtaza Baloch on Tuesday said the Sindh Labour Department was working with labour unions, industrialists, employees, employers and other stakeholders to implement labour laws and improve living standard of labourers
Talking to a delegation of Employers' Federation of Pakistan here at his office, the minister said the Labour Department was also working with stakeholders for ensuring safety and provision of better health and education facilities to labourers and their families.
He said Sindh was the first province to make labour policy and "we are trying to minimise the role of middle-man/contractor so that the labours might get maximum benefits", a press release said.
Ghulam Murtaza Baloch said, "Time has come to work jointly with employees, employers and labour unions/federations to create more jobs for skilled labour." The minister said he himself visited almost 80 percent of labour colonies and industrial areas across the province to see ground realities.While Sindh Secretary Labour Rasheed Ahmed Solangi suggested to organise awareness seminars on Labour Laws, especially in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur.
President Employers' Federation of Pakistan Majyd Aziz and Vice President Zaki Ahmed Khan were also present.
