Livelihood Support and Promotion of Small Community Infrastructure Program (LACIP) starts extension phase in Dir

The Livelihood Support and Promotion of Small Community Infrastructure Program (LACIP) initiated Extension Phase of its operations in Dir Upper district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Dec, 2018 ) :The Livelihood Support and Promotion of Small Community Infrastructure Program (LACIP) initiated Extension Phase of its operations in Dir Upper district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The program aimed to contribute improvement of general living conditions, reduction in poverty and vulnerability, improvement in quality of life and increase in income generation opportunities with particular focus on inclusion of women.

The program is designed to benefit people through infrastructure development, asset transfer and building linkages with local governments, said a news release.

LACIP is financed by the Federal Republic of Germany through German Development Bank (KFW).

The Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) is implementing LACIP Extension phase-1 in two Union Councils of District Dir Upper along with KhwendoKor (KK).

In this regard KhwendoKor organized an introductory session in Peshawar to ensure smooth and timely execution of all operations of LACIP.

The program was well attended by Senior officials from PPAF and KhwendoKor including Muhammad Nadeem Senior General Manager (PPAF) and Maryam Bibi CEO Khwendo Kor.

Focused on the value-driven social mobilization of vulnerable communities and households, the program aims at community and staff training, formation of village development plans and village council development plans.

The project has been designed to support decentralization reforms in all selected districts of Khyber �Pkhtunkhwa.

This will contribute to greater participatio0n of villagers in decision making at tehsil and village council level for infrastructure and livelihood improvement.

On the occasion Mohammad Nadeem, Sr. General Manager PPAF highlighted thesalient features of the project and its core objective of strengthening localcommunities.
