More Wardens Deployed To Maintain Traffic During Rains

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -27th Augst,2016) : City Traffic Officer (CTO) Tayyab Hafeez Cheema said that additional traffic staff had been deployed at the construction sites of Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) and other important thoroughfares in the city to maintain traffic flow during rain. Talking to APP here, he said that additional staff was deployed at Canal Bank Road underpasses, M M Alam Road, Gawalmandi Chowk, McLeod Road, OutFall Road, Allama Iqbal Road, Mozang Chowk and other important roads to avoid traffic mess during rain.
The CTO said that cash reward and commendatory certificates would be awarded to those traffic officials who perform their duties with responsibility, adding that the DSPs and sector In-charges have also been directed to issue continuous instructions for maintaining smooth traffic flow during rains. He said the CTP has put in place effective parking measures besides taking action against encroachers and other traffic rules violators in the city and around the development sites of the project to facilitate the people.
