Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) Director General, Iftikhar Ali Qaimkhani on Friday expressed his dissatisfaction over the performance of his department and stated that actions against illegal constructions were not satisfactory.
He asked all the Directors (Buildings) and regional directors to take stern action against illegal constructions and people involved in those.
In a notification, SBCA chief directed all the officers concerned to take action against illegal constructions following defined procedure, which includes cancellation of their approved plans, blockage of CNIC of people involved through NADRA, disconnection of utilities supply through concerned agencies, cancellation of lease through registrar, action against concerned proof architect or engineer and registration of FIR and initiation of legal action against people involved in such constructions.
The SBCA DG ordered to launch campaign against such constructions from November 24 and in this connection Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and Karachi Development Authority (KDA) would coordinate.
The provincial building control authority in this regard has appealed to the masses to cooperate with the authority and not to invest in such illegal constructions.
The SBCA also warned of strict legal action against those involved in construction of portions/units and shops over residential plots and to avoid their sale and purchase.
