Shehbaz, Farooq Haider address Kashmir Conference

LAHORE,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -29th Sep,2016) : Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Thursday said that India could not deprive unarmed Kashmiris of their right of freedom through cruelties.

He said that there was a need to shake world conscience against the worst atrocities against unarmed Kashmiris by Indian forces. International community was silent and did not talk for the right of Kashmiri people today, he mentioned.

He expressed these views while addressing Kashmir Conference, here. Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider, Provincial Minister Bilal Yasin and Vice Chancellor Punjab University Mujahid Kamran also spoke on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said that two jawans of Pak Army were martyred and eight injured due to firing on line of control yesterday night. He said, "India should know that Allah Almighty has given power to Pakistan and it has strongest army which is fully capable to foil the nefarious designs of enemy and respond any aggression." He said that United Nations and world community resolved the issue of East Taimoor in Indonesia on linguistic basis, Sudan and Bosnia issues but the silence of the world nations regarding Palestine and Kashmir was unjustified.

He said that Indian barbarism on line of control reflected Modi's frustration. It reflected that Modi was trained by RSS, he added. The Chief Minister said that when Indian Prime Minister Narindar Modi was Chief Minister of Gujrat, he set on fire more than three thousand Muslims and their houses and today there was the same mentality.

No surgical strike occurred at line of control but Indian army martyred two Pakistani Army jawans and injured others through firing, he added. He said, "India knows and Modi is aware of the fact that if they attacked Pakistan, brave Pak-Army and the nation will ruin them." He said that despite training of RSS, Modi could not make such mistake.

He said that on one hand, bloodbath was being enacted day and night in Kashmir, mothers and sisters were insulted and worst cruelties had been committed against unarmed Kashmiris but on the other hand, unluckily, some elements were out to divide the nation.

He said the CPEC was project of progress and prosperity of Pakistan and would change the destiny of the country. He said that this project would enable Pakistan economically to stand on its own feet and talk to India bravely but on the other hand, efforts were being made to sabotage this project through sit-ins which was strongly condemnable.

The Chief Minister said Kashmiri youth Burhan Wani had lit the candle of freedom and it was the result of his martyrdom that Kashmiris were hoisting flag of freedom everywhere without any fear and raising slogan of Pakistan.

He said that Shimla agreement had weakened struggle of independence of Kashmiris and caused loss to this movement, however, in spite of it, freedom movement did not stop in Kashmir. He said that the West and other countries should not remain silent on the sacrifices of Kashmiri youth but play their due role for ensuring them their right in accordance with UN resolutions.

He said that Kashmiris were rendering sacrifices for their birthright while thousands of Kashmiri children had been martyred and others were being made blind. He said that Kashmiris had high expectations of their Pakistani brothers and sisters.

He said,"We will have to peep into our conscience and extend support to Kashmiri brethren." The Chief Minister said that Pakistan had been competing India in economic sector till the decade of 90s.

He said that Pakistan was ahead India in textile sector and there was not so much difference between the two countries regarding foreign exchange reserves. He said that every country from North America to Japan had been supporting right of self-determination of Kashmiris.

He said that Kashmir dispute had also been at the top of the list along with Philistine on the agenda of Islamic Summit Conference. Its reason was that Pakistan was economically strong at that time, he added.

The Chief Minister requested 20 crore people of Pakistan to make Pakistan economically strong to shake world conscience against worst Indian cruelties in Occupied Kashmir. He said that the nation was being divided through sit-ins and the country was being pushed towards worst conspiracy of sit-ins hatched in 2014.

He said, "The example of Turkey is before us where despite worst political differences, the entire nation became united for foiling the coup against democracy and all political parties gathered under one banner by setting aside their differences.

" Shehbaz Sharif said that the entire nation became rock wall for the stability of the country and survival of democracy but on the other hand, efforts were being made for sabotaging the journey of progress and prosperity in Pakistan.

He said that some elements wanted to stop the journey of development through chaos and anarchy but conscious people of Pakistan would never tolerate it. He said, "It is our duty to unite the nation and make Pakistan economically strong for ensuring right of self-determination to Kashmiris." He said that this destination could not be achieved through speeches but only through the spirit of hard work, honesty and sacrifice.

The Chief Minister said that on the one hand, enemy was sitting on the border but on the other side, some people were opposing the development of the country for their personal interests. It was better to hold public meetings for Kashmir at Wahga border and for economic development of the country at Peshawar, Quetta and other areas but the opponents of development of Pakistan wanted to stop the pace of development of the country through sit-ins and rallies, he said.

He said the nation needed education, treatment, respect and a commendable place in the comity of nations but some elements were moving towards some other side through protest politics. He said that focus of these elements was not 2018 elections but to stop CPEC projects and create hurdles in the way of projects being set up under the CPEC.

He said that under the CPEC, the dream of progress and prosperity of people of Pakistan would be materialized through investment of billions of Dollars in development projects. He said that with the completion of these projects, poverty and unemployment would be eliminated from Pakistan and it would make progress but if hurdles were created in these projects through anarchy then nothing would be achieved by anyone but people of Pakistan would not allow doing so.

He said that Kashmiris were writing a new history with their blood. Shehbaz Sharif said that Kashmiri brothers, mothers and elderly persons needed support of youth and economic development was inevitable for it.

He said that those indulging in the politics of sit-in and protest should mend their ways. "Although Pakistan is a nuclear power and has best army of the world, however, today's war is economic war and Pakistan will have to be made strong economically for ensuring right of self-determination for Kashmiris," he added.
