Train, Rickshaw Drivers Held Responsible For Lodhran Accident

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jan, 2017 ) : Poor visibility due to dense fog caused train-rickshaw accident in Lodhran while train driver, assistant driver, gate keeper and rickshaw driver have been held responsible in the initial investigation report.
According to railways officials, train driver, assistant driver and gate keeper showed negligence while rickshaw driver violated the rule, however low visibility due to dense fog was the main reason of the incident, said in a report presented to Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique here on Tuesday.
The management also presented a pilot project on Operation Safety to the minister. Chairing a meeting here at Railway Headquarters, the minister directed the officials to set up warning systems at every level crossing. He also directed that GPS system should be made a part of the operation safety pilot project for tracking locomotives.
