ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -6th Sept,2016) : The group exhibition of five young artists, which started on September 1, continues here at Nomad Gallery evincing keen interest among visitors.
Fizza Siddiqui, Hira Shakir, Momina Momina, Samreen Asif and Usman Khalid have put on display their art work on different themes at the exhibition organized by Nomad Art Gallery and Cultural Center.
Fizza Siddiqui's work pertains to refugees. "My work shows the pain of refugees and their life devoid of basic necessities which they have left behind at home," she said talking to APP. "It's hard for refugees to forget the loss of their belongings, particularly shelter which is hard to build.
It is also difficult for their kids to forget their childhood memoraries at home. It takes years to make a home, which gets vanished with the blink of an eye.
" Describing her work, Hira Shakir said, "There exist many patterns, besides our own.
All these patterns are interconnected opening different life circles within a circle." Her work, she said, was an attempt to explore her interaction with such circles. "I float and blend within such life patterns." Momina said, "Being deaf, I feel art has been an integral part of my life since birth.
It proved to be my mother tongue as I grew up." Her interest in abstract art was the result of close association with her tutor Professor Helen Baker during her stay at Newcastle, UK. She said she developed interest in 'colour field composition' and 'Asemic art' with the passage of time. The exhibition will remain open till September 18, except Fridays.
