Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 13th October, 2018) Zainab’s father Amin Ansari has reached out to the Lahore High Court, demanding public execution of convict Imran Ali in her daughter’s rape and murder case.

Amin Ansari filed an application in the Lahore High Court demanding to execute the convict publicly.

The petitioner adopted that the public execution will prove to be a lesson for other such predators and will set a precedent.

An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday issued black warrants for the execution of condemned prisoner, Imran Ali, in Zainab murder case. The court asked the jail authorities to hang Imran Ali on Oct 17.

Zainab’s father Amin Ansari expressed satisfaction over death sentence awarded to the convict in Zainab murder case.

Talking to media yesterday, he demanded that the convict Imran Ali should be executed publicly.

Amin Ansari also thanked the chief justice for the dispensation of justice.

While demanding a public execution, he said although it took late to get justice but he is satisfied over court verdict.

Imran Ali was sentenced to death in February 2018 on charges of kidnapping, raping and killing minor Zainab in January 2018 within the jurisdiction of the A-division police station, Kasur.

Little Zainab went missing on Jan 4, shortly after she left home to go to a neighbour's house where she studied the Holy Quran. Her parents were in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah when the incident took place. After relatives reported her missing, the police recovered her body on Jan 9 from a heap of garbage.

The incident sparked unrest and massive protests in Kasur district resulting in violent clashes with the police.

Police later collected DNA samples of 1,187 people from January 12 to January 23 to trace the accused. On January 23, the police arrested Imran, a neighbour of Zainab, as his DNA matched with the DNA samples collected from the body of Zainab.

The convict was involved in eight other similar cases wherein six victims had died and only two survived. An anti terrorism court had awarded death sentence to Imran Ali in at least three such cases also.
