Zakia Distributes Laptops Among UET Students

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 06th Oct, 2016 ) : University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore organized a laptop distribution ceremony under Prime Minister Scheme Phase-II, here Thursday.
Provincial Minister for Higher Education Begum Zakia Shahnawaz Khan was the Chief Guest while UET Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid, faculty members and students were present on the occasion.
Addressing to the audience, the minister said that youth plays key role to build a nation and government launched many projects to empower the youth for bright future of country. She further said that Pakistan was getting progress under the visionary leadership which is causing to attract the foreign investment in multiple sectors.
She added that China Pakistan Economic Corridor is one of the biggest examples of it.
She said laptop scheme is to facilitate the students to get benefit of information technology to be prepared for confronting the challenges of upcoming era.
She said it will provide opportunity to learn more about relevant disciplines to get expertise as per need of the time on international standards. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid said that present government is concerned to steer the youth towards the digital world.
Vice Chancellor said that UET is making efforts to provide the quality of education to youth. At the end, the minister distributed the laptops among 23 out of 546 selected students of Masters, M.Phil and Ph.D. The event was concluded with the presentation of shield to Minister for Higher Education Begum Zakia Shahnawaz Khan by VC UET Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid.
