Meesha Shafi Appoints Legal Counsels On Sexual Harassment Claim Against Ali Zafar

Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 24th Apr, 2018) Model and singer Meesha Shafi has appointed legal counsels Barrister Muhammad Ahmad Pansota and Nighat Dad to look after her sexual harassment claims against fellow artist Ali Zafar.
Meesha in a tweet on Tuesday, said, “I have appointed Barrister Pansota and Nighat Dad as my legal counsels to look after all issues pertaining to my sexual harassment claim against Ali Zafar. Media is requested to contact them to get any update on the ongoing issue.”
In her tweet last week, Meesha Shafi said, “I have been subjected, on more than one occasion, to sexual harassment of physical nature at the hands of a colleague from my industry: Ali Zafar.
”
Meesha said that she is sharing this because she believes that by speaking out about her own experience of sexual harassment, she will break the culture of silence that permeates through our society.
Ali Zafar, however, denied the accusations saying that he will take the matter to the court. Yesterday, he sent Meesha a legal notice of Rs 10 crore.
The issue has sparked a new debate on media and showbiz industry. Some have come out to support Meesha Shafi while others are supporting Ali Zafar over the issue.
