Rawalpindi Arts Council To Stage Drama "Watan Ka Sheedai"

The Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) will present a stage drama "Watan ka Sheedai" depicting the life of the hero of 1965 war Soldier Maqbool Hussain on October 13 in the RAC Auditorium.
RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Oct, 2018 ) :The Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) will present a stage drama "Watan ka Sheedai" depicting the life of the hero of 1965 war Soldier Maqbool Hussain on October 13 in the RAC Auditorium.
Punjab Information & Culture Minister Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan will be the chief guest. The drama is authored by Naheed Manzoor.
Maqbool Hussain was taken as a prisoner by Indian army in the 1965 war. He spent 40 years in Indian jails and he was subjected to terrible torture but Maqbool Hussain emerged as a symbol of resilience.
He braved through inhuman conditions and suffered dreadful torture but he never disclosed secrets of the country and continued chanting slogans Long Live Pakistan till his tongue was chopped off.
After that Maqbool Hussain wrote "Pakistan Zindabad" with his blood during the confinement. He was released by Indian authorities in 2015 and he returned back to his unit and saluted the Unit Commander and introducedhimself by writing on the paper # 335139 and then his identity was revealed tothe Pakistani authorities and he was given the salute of the hero.
