Bannu, Tank Enters Into 13th NBP Inter-District Football Championship Semi-finals

Bannu and Tank entered into the semi-finals after recording victories against their respective rivals in the ongoing 13th NBP Inter-District Football Championship being played here at Tehmas Khan Football Stadium on Saturday.
Former Health Minister KP, Syed Zahir Ali Shah, who is also President KP Football Association, graced the occasion as chief guest.
Organizing Secretary Basit Kamal, former Pakistan team skipper Gohar Zaman, officials and large number of spectatorswere also present.
Bannu faced tough resistance against strong Dera Ismail Khan in the thrill-packed match witnessed by huge crowd.
The goal-keeper of Bannu (Dilawar Khan) and Dera Ismail Khan (Farhan) played well and saved good goal attempts.
It was in the 19th minute when Bannu got a penalty kick when inner striker Jan Baz was wrongly intercepted by Dera Ismail Khan deep defender Tahir and signaled by referee Anwar Khan.
The penalty was taken by Mubashir, the right winger, which was nicely intercepted by Dera Ismail Khan goal-keeper Farhan.
The first goal was scored in the 61st minute when center strikerer Muneeb hit the ball in the net on a field attempt.
Muneeb got a free ball from his mid-fielder Arsalan and zoomed quickly toward the rival goal-post by dodging two defenders and even the on-rushing Dera Ismail Khan goal-keeper before slamming in a goal.
In the second match Tank outclassed Lakki Marwat by 4-2. Surprisingly Lakki Marwat got two goals lead in the very outset of the match when Ihtisham and Tauqeer Khan scored two field goals in the 7th and 11th minutes but they could not maintain their supremacy and thus lose the match.
Tank reduced the margin in the 30th minute by Faridullah on a field attempt while Salahuddin made it 2-2 when he converted a foul kick into the net in the 35th minute. At half-time Tank and Lakki Marwart were locked 2-2.
In the second half Tank forwarded with their excellent short-passes and scored two more goals by Adil Khan and Jamil Khan on the field attempts, touching the tally 4-2.
FIFA referee Anwar Khan, Abdul Rehman, Abid, Zeeshan and Dilawar Khan supervisedthe matches. Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah acted as Match Commissioner.
