Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said the holding of Mayor Karachi Gold Cup 2018 inter-district hockey league was start of the restoration of hockey in Karachi.

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Nov, 2018 ) :Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said the holding of Mayor Karachi Gold Cup 2018 inter-district hockey league was start of the restoration of hockey in Karachi.

Karachi Hockey Association has taken excellent step which would help promote this sport at local level and regain past glory.

He expressed these views after launching the Mayor Karachi Gold Cup 2018 inter-district hockey league at Junaid Ali Shah Hockey Complex Gulshan Iqbal on Tuesday, said a statement.

Dr. Junaid Ali Shah, MNA Deputy Iqbal Muhammad Ali, Chairman DMC East Moeed Anwer, chairman of law committee Arif Khan Advocate, former hockey captain Hanif Khan, Samiullah and others were also present on the occasion.

Under the schedule, the tournament would be played from November 20 to 30which will be participated by best teams of Karachi.
