Khyber, Malakand Advance To Next Round In Inter-City Football League

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2019 ) :Khyber and Malakand moved to the next round after registering victories against their respective rivals in the ongoing Pakistan Football Federation Inter-City Football Championship, simultaneously being played across the country on Sunday.
In Tehmas Khan Football Stadium Peshawar Malakand defeated strong Abbottabad team by 4-2 in a thrilling encounter and moved to the next round. Malakand right from the outset of the match got position of the ball by making some fine rallies of attacks as a result it was in the 13th minute when Malakand took the lead through right winger Shahid Ullah on the field attempt. It was a left winger Rizwan cross in front of the goal-mouth which nicely headed in by unmarked Shahid Ullah.
After taking the lead, Malakand dominated the proceedings and did not let the rival forwards to play with free hands. It was in the 19th minute when Rizwan, the left winger, slammed in a beautiful goal on the field attempt and five minute later dispatched another one in similar fashion to make it 3-0.
Malakand was leading by 3-0 at half-time. Abbottabad on the other hands after conceding three goals managed their position accordingly and succeeded in scoring two quick goals through center striker Saddam and inner striker Aazaz Khan on the field attempts.
When the tally were 3-2 in favour of Malakand, this time deep defender Asim slammed in a beautiful goal from the top of the box area through a foul kick conversion and made the tally 4-2. Thus Malakand won the match by 4-2. Abid, Ikram, Zakir, Zeeshan supervised the match while Imtiaz Ali Shah acted as Match Commissioner.
In the second match Khyber edged past Waziristan by 2-1 in the second match played on the same venue. Center striker Saeed Khan slammed in a beautiful goal for Waziristan in the 7th minute and after getting lead, Waziristan mostly dominated the first session.
At half-time Waziristan was leading by 1-0 despite Khyber District have more chances to score but due to poor finishing, specially in the danger zone, the team failed to score any goal till the end of the first 50-minute battle.
It was the 51st minute when right winger Shaheen found the equalizer on the field attempt. It was 25-yard long kick, straightly went into the right corner of the goal-post to make the tally 1-1 and after 20-minute Afaq scored another goal to make the tally 2-1. Thus Khyber won the match by 2-1. Anwar Khan, Khair Ul Amin and Zeeshan supervised the match while Imtiaz Ali Shah acted as match commissioner.
