Lakki Marwat Stun Mardan In 13th NBP Inter-District Soccer

Lakki Marwat stunned Mardan by 3-2 in a thrilling encounter of the ongoing 13th NBP Inter-District Football Championship being played here at Tehmas Khan Football Stadium on Thursday.
Former Secretary General KP Football Association and veteran footballer Syed Noor Ahmad Shah was the chief guest on this occasion. Organizing Secretary and former international footballer Basit Kamal and large number of spectators were also present.
The match was started on fast tempo and soon Lakki Marwat took the lead in the 6th minute when right winger Ihtisham slammed in a beautiful goal on the field attempt.
Ihtisham travelled past three defenders at his right position and zoomed in quickly by scoring a beautiful goal to make the tally 1-0.
After taking lead, Lakki Marwat kept up pressure and soon doubled their lead when center striker Amir dispatched a beautiful goal on the field attempt. This time right winger Absar got the ball from his mid-fielder Sajid Khan and after dodging two defenders, he kicked into the net to double the lead 2-0.
When taking 2-0 lead, Lakki Marwat made some good attacking moves as a result it was in the 30th minute when Qazi Tahir, the inner sticker, scored a superb goal from the 25-yard distance after converting a foul-kick. Absar was wrong intercepted by Mardan deep defender Fahim and referee Abdur Rehman given the foul-kick in favor of Lakki Marwat which was nicely taken by Qazi Tahir with his forceful kick.
Taking 3-0 lead at half-time Lakki Marwat lost an edge over the match in the second session in which Mardan managed their position accordingly and reduced to goals through field attempts. First Zahoor scored a goal through Fahim's free pass and secondly Waheed netted a superb goal through field attempt to make the tally 3-2. Mardan also put in more pressure to level the tally but they were failed and thus Lakki Marwat won the match by 3-2.
Abdul Rehman, Zeeshan and Abid supervised the match while Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah acted as match commissioner.
