Senate Body Asks PCB To Introduce Strict Measures Against Match

ISLAMABAD, May 4 (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 04th May, 2017 ) : Senate Standing Committee on Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) on Thursday directed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to introduce more measures to avoid any kind of match fixing issues in future.
The committee met here at Parliament House under the chairmanship of Senator Mushahid Ullah Khan. Members of the committee including Senator Mukhtiar Ahmed Dhamrah and Senator Saud Majeed, Secretary IPC and Chairman PCP also attended the meeting.
Chairman of the Committee said that cricket and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) were very important institutions for the country. The chairman of the committee said that involvement of one player in spot fixing defamed the whole country which was very serious issue.
The committee in its recommendations said that PCB should devise more preventive measures to control such efforts in future. The committee also recommended that sports Board should review the appointment of grade 17 and above officials on daily wages in the Board.
Chairman PCB briefed the committee about the aims and achievements in detail. He said that the issue of spot fixing by Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif during PSL in Dubai was under inquiry by PCB.
He said that out of five, one player accepted that he was approached by bookies. He said that the main character in PSL spot fixing was Nasir Jamshed. Chairman PCB said that India violated the mutual agreements with the cricket board and the issue would be raised in International Cricket Council.
