SHARJAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Nov, 2018 ) :Rajputs beat Punjabi Legends by 12 runs in the 17th match of the T10 League at the Sharjah cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
Punjabi Legends who have been playing poorly in the last few matches found the Rajputs' attacks too strong to stand in front of some deadly piece of bowling, led by Munaf Patel and Tymal Mills, who were extremely heavy on the batsmen.
Punjabi Legends scored 105 runs losing six wickets while chasing Rajputs' modest total of 117 runs for 5 in ten overs. Umar Akmal and Philip Salt were the highest scorer from Punjabi Legends, both hitting 34 runs each in 19 and 17 balls respectively.
After Umar Akmal's wicket, the team started to lose hope and gradually their batting line ran out of steam.
Only Philip Salt's batting made the team going. Among the six wickets of Punjabi Legends, two each were taken by Munaf Patel and Tymal Mills and one each by Carlos Brathwaite and Sayed Shirzad.
Earlier, Rajputs' captain Brendon McCullum led his team, with 28 off 15 balls including one six and three boundaries, while other batsmen Rilee Rossouw, Mohammad Shahzad, Carlos Brathwaite contributed quite handsomely, all scoring above 20 runs to power their team to make 117 runs by losing five wickets.
In the end, Punjabi Legends, although were bang on target, lost too many early wickets and thus found difficult to match the total.
