BiH Police Detain 12 People Suspected Of Arms Smuggling, Human Trafficking - Prosecutors

BELGRADE (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 21st December, 2018) Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) on Thursday detained 12 suspected members of a criminal gang presumably involved in human trafficking and smuggling arms, the BiH prosecutor's office said.
The large-scale operation code-named "Scorpion" was held earlier on Thursday in Bijeljina, the city located in Republika Srpska, which is one of the entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in Brcko municipality.
"Along with the detentions, searches were also conducted in more than 10 locations in Bijeljina and Brcko, where a significant amount of weapons and ammunition was found," the prosecutor's office said in a statement.
One of the suspects is an officer of Bosnia and Herzegovina's border police, according to the statement.
