TELEMBA (Russia) (UrduPoint news / Sputnik - 12th September, 2018) Russia's Tu-95MS strategic bombers have successfully hit targets with cruise missiles during the Vostok-2018 large-scale military drills in the Russian eastern region of Buryatia, the country's Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.
"The strategic missile carriers Tu-95MS of the long-range aviation Aerospace Forces within the maneuvers of the Vostok-2018 drills have carried out practice launches of cruise missiles from a height of more than 5,000 meters [3 miles] on ground targets at the Telemba training ground in Buryatia," the ministry said in a statement, adding that the strikes were successful.

Before the drills began, it was estimated that 300,000 troops would participate. Vostok-2018 has gained an international status, with troops from China and Mongolia taking part in one of the stages.
