Farmers Told To Avail Subsidized Initiatives Of Modern Farming

Punjab government has invited applications from farmers to enable them avail modern technology at a highly subsidized cost to modernize agriculture and enhance production.
DERA GHAZI KHAN, Sept 26 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Sep, 2018 ) :Punjab government has invited applications from farmers to enable them avail modern technology at a highly subsidized cost to modernize agriculture and enhance production.
Deputy Commissioner Ali Akbar Bhatti, while presiding over a meeting of agriculture advisory committee, here Wednesday, said that provincial government was offering 60 per cent subsidy on installation of drip irrigation systems, 80 per cent subsidy on solar panels and 50 per cent subsidy on tunnel farming.
Punjab government was committed to facilitating farmers to the extent of sharing sizable cost of installation of modern agriculture systems, most important of them being the irrigation systems that save water and installation of solar panels that energize these systems, Bhatti said.
He added that government was inviting applications from farmers to benefit from these schemes.
