Dar Advises Political Parties Not To Politicize Economy

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -22nd Sep,2016) : Finance Minister, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar Thursday advised the political parties of the country not to politicize economy which has been turned around from the near default to stability, as declared by various international organizations.
The Minister was speaking at "PIMS Thanksgiving Event" arranged by the Young Doctors Association (YDA) to show their gratitude to the Finance Minister for improving their financial package and other facilities.
The Minister lamented that at a time when the country's economy was performing very well, some political parties were trying to pull the legs of the government, which he said was not in the national interest.
He said that the economy of the country was in very shabby condition when the PML (N) government took the power but with the diligence and prudent policies it was turned around within a short period of three years, adding that the world countries were now congratulating Pakistan for this improvement.
Dar informed the young doctors that Pakistan was the second choicest places for Foreign Direct Investment which could lead the country to progress and prosperity. He said that the world organizations have termed Pakistan as Emerging market and recently the country was predicted to be Asian tiger.
He has that Pakistan was having huge potential, however consistency of policies was needed to tap this for the betterment of the country. He said that the government has also enhanced social sector expenditures to help the vulnerable segments of the society.
Dar said that the loadshedding would be completely overcome by November 2017 as the government was working on various power projects which would be completed by the time. The Finance Minister informed the young doctors that the government was focused on the improvement and up-gradation of health-care services in the country.
"We have solved the problems of doctors in Punjab during our previous government and the same duty is performed here in the federal government by us" he added. He informed the young doctors that Prime Minister announced special package for up-gradation of existing facilities at PIMS/Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University that includes increase in beds strength of Burns Center, Children Hospital, Maternity and Child Health Care Center; establishment of state of the art surgical towers; 42 bedded new ICU; revival of liver transplant center; special hiring of physicians on market based remuneration.
"PM also accorded in principle approval for construction of 39 state of the art hospitals across the country out of which 3 will be constructed in Federal Capital Territory", he added. The Minister announced that there will be an increase in the stipends for under training Post Graduate Residents to Rs.
73,000/c per month and to House Officers Rs. 40,000/c per month at Federal level only, while the arrears will also be paid to the doctors on 1st October. Speaking on the occasion, State Minister for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD), Dr.
Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that the government envisages to develop model health services in capital city as is being done in case of education which could be then replicated all across the country.
He highlighted the importance of integrating all the health services of the federal capital which currently were working under various ministries and departments. Vice Chancellor, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University, Javed Akram and Representative of Young Doctors Association also spoke on the occasion and thanked the government for fulfilling their demands.
