Fire At Oil Refinery In South-East Of Moscow Contained - Russian Energy Ministry

The fire at an oil refinery located in Moscow's south-eastern Kapotnya District has been contained, the Russian Energy Ministry said in a statement on Saturday.

Earlier in the day, a representative of Moscow emergency services told Sputnik that two fire spots had been registered at the refinery, with jet fires raging at a height of over 10 meters (32.8 feet).

"An MLCO [Monitoring and Laboratory Control Office of the Russian Emergency Control Ministry] laboratory is heading for the location in order to measure the MAC [maximum allowable concentration] of harmful agents in the atmospheric air. The fire is contained, as of 8:20 a.m. [local time, 05:20 GMT]. The washing-down is currently being conducted," the statement read.

The ministry confirmed� earlier that there were no casualties and fatalities, adding that there was no threat for the residents of the district and for its ecology.
