Shipping activity at Port Qasim 02 Jan 2019

Seven ships, Maersk Hartford, MSC Asya, Vita Ocean, Copen Hagan, YM Miranda, Melati-4 and Rose-M carrying containers, Soya Bean Seeds, Project Cargo, Chemicals, Palm oil and Diesel oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA), here on Wednesday.

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jan, 2019 ) :Seven ships, Maersk Hartford, MSC Asya, Vita Ocean, Copen Hagan, YM Miranda, Melati-4 and Rose-M carrying containers, Soya Bean Seeds, Project Cargo, Chemicals, Palm oil and Diesel oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA), here on Wednesday.

Meanwhile three more ships, Container Vessel MOL Generosity, Gas carrier Al-Huwaila and Bulk cargo carrier Port Canton also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

A total of ten ships were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Coal, Soya Bean Seeds, Project Cargo, LPG, Palm oil and Diesel oil respectively.

Out of them, a gas carrier Gas Esco sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, and there more ships namely, CL Belle, Maersk Hartford and YM Miranda are expected to sail on same day in the afternoon.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 132,531 tonnes, comprising 118,281 tonnes imports cargo and 14,250 tonnes export cargo, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,111 Containers (TEUs), (1,361 TEUs imports and 750 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port.

Five ships, MOL Generosity, Tiger Shanxi, Maria-II, Gaschem Pacific and Al-Huwaila carrying containers, Coal, LPG and LNG are expected to take berths at QICT, PIBT, SSGC, EVTL and EETL respectively on Wednesday, While three more Container ships, MSCMirella, APL Antwerp and GH Chinook are due to arrive at PQ on Thursday.
