Shipping Activity At Port Qasim 03 May 2019

Six ships Maersk Brooklyin, Tucapel, Xia Men Ze Ping, Pisti, As Aries and IVS Windsor carrying containers, General Cargo and Coal were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd May, 2019 ) :Six ships Maersk Brooklyin, Tucapel, Xia Men Ze Ping, Pisti, As Aries and IVS Windsor carrying containers, General Cargo and Coal were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and Port Qasim Electric Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA), here on Friday.

In the meantime two more ships Containers Vessel Maersk Salina and Gas carrier Onaiza also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim.

A total of eleven ships, were occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Cement, Coal, Canola Seeds, General Cargo, LPG, LNG and Palm oil respectively.

Out of them, Bulk cargo carrier 'Amadeus' sailed out to sea on Friday morning and five more ships namely, Red Fin, Alani, Serene Juniper, Tucapel and Aries were expected to sail on same day in the afternoon respectively.

A cargo volume of 160,680 tonnes, comprising 136,675 tonnes imports cargo and 24,005 tonnes export cargo, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,245 Containers (TEUs), (2,285 TEUs imports and 664 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port.

Five ships Maersk Salina, Thor Madoc, Crimson Kingdom, Gas Icon and Onaiza carrying Containers, Coal, Soya Bean, LPG and LNG are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-4, FAP, EVTL and EETL respectively on Friday.

While two more ships Diyala and Safmarine Nyassa with Containers aredue to arrive on Saturday.
