Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Augst,2016) Five ships C.V MSC Busan, M.V BBC Shanghai, M.T Buga Akasa, M.T Bhai Ravi and M.T Evita carrying containers, general cargo, palm oil, chemicals and furnace oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Sunday, Meanwhile five more ships C.V Castor-N, C.V CMA CGM Amazon, M.V JS Rhin, M.T Chemroad Rose and M.V KSL Dan Yang with containers, coal, furnace oil and general cargo also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at 60% on Sunday where a total of nine berths were engaged by ships namely C.V MSC Busan, C.V Northern Monument, C.V Hermes, M.V Diyaab, M.V BBC Shanghai, M.V Voge Challenger, M.T Bunga Akasa, M.T Bhai Ravi and M.T Evita to load/offload containers, cement, general cargo, canola seeds, palm oil, furnace oil and chemicals respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 86,902 tonnes, comprising 54,203 tonnes import cargo and 32,699 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,795 containers (TEUs) (1,665 imports TUEs & 1,389 TUEs exports) was handled at the Port. DEPARTURES: Two ships, container vessel hermes and General carrier BBC Shanghai M.T Bhai Ravi are expected to sail on same day. ARRIVAL schedule: Five ships C.V E.R Yokahama, C.V Castor-N, M.V Dang Yang, M.V JS Rhin and M.T Chemroad Quest carrying containers, general cargo, coal anf chemicals are expected to take berths at Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Monday,8-08-2016, while C.V Maersk Denver and C.V CMA CGM Amazon are due arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday, and C.V Conti Annapurna is due to arrive on Wednesday,10th August.
