100-day Plan Finalized To Uplift Education Sector: Ziaullah Bangash

Adviser to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Elementary and Secondary Education, Ziaullah Bangash Wednesday said the education department had finalized 100 days plan to improve quality of education and bring further improvement in the system.
Talking to APP, he said that 10 thousands Primary schools would be declared model schools where only female teachers would be recruited to teach only primary level students. He said that digital screening boards would be installed to facilitate both teachers and students.
He said that " Green school" initiative was being taken under which students would be encouraged to plant samplings and a target of five million trees, in this regard, had been set for this year.
To create more job opportunities, he said the government was focused to open more and quality technical and vocational training institutes in all districts of the province.
Ziaullah Bangash said that government was giving top priority to bring about education reforms in the merged areas of Khyber Pakthukhwa.
He said, in the light of vision of party's chairman Imran Khan, the steps were being taken to improve quality of education and giving more facilities to education sector.
Ziaullah Bangash said that Rs 18 billion had been allocated for schools in merged areas, adding that more funds would be allocated to bring them at par with other areas of the province.
He said he would soon hold "Open Kachery " in every district with an aim to listen people suggestions on reforms in eduction sector.
He has sought details of all teachers working in merged areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In this connection, a letter has been written to Director Education of Merged Areas to provide details of all teachers serving in primary, middle, high and higher secondary schools within a week time.
Ziaullah Bangash also directed those teachers who were absent since long to immediately resume their respective schools failing which strict disciplinary action would be taken against them under Efficiency and Discipline Rules 2011.
Ziaullah Bangash said that digitalization of education sector has been started with an aim to improve quality of education by providing state of the art education tools to teacher and students.
He said that in the first stage technical and Information technology training had been imported to 17 thousands teachers. He said that free of cost tablets and computers were being provided to teachers and soon installation of electronic boards in classroom would be started soon.
"In the ear of technology, we want to come up with innovative ideas and use latest technology to develop interest of students in study", he said.
He said that target of enrolling 0.8 million students had been set at primary level for this year and the education department had successfully enrolled 0.6 million children so far, which is tremendous achievement of the provincial government.
He said that more rooms were being constructed in primary schools level to create more accommodation of newly enrolled students, adding the government was providing cast money to poor student especially girls to encourage enrollment and reduce dropout rates from schools.
Ziaullah Bangash said that the government had adopted strategy to make ensure provision of quality education to 6 million students studying in 36 thousand government run schools, besides taking steps to enroll dropout stendents.
He said that new policy was being formulated for transfer of teachers which would be based on students to teachers ratio (STR) in schools. He said that Secretary and Director of Elementary and Secondary Education Department (E&SE) have been directed to chalk out students to teachers policy with in one week.
Ziaullah Bangash said that now transfer of teachers would be made in the light of this new policy under which at least one teacher would be available for 40 students.
He said that teachers would be transfer from those schools having higher number of teachers to those where teachers are required as par students to teachers ratio.
Adviser to Chief Minister said that soon this new policy on transfer of teachers would be sent to district education officer for implementation in letter and spirit.
He said that ban on transfer of teachers had been lifted. He said that in past transfer of teachers was done on political basis which prove detrimental to education system, adding political involvement in transfer and appointment of teachers would not be tolerated now.
