AJK In-Service Livestock Professionals Complete One Month Refresher Training Course On Artificial Insemination At UVAS

The Department of Theriogenology of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore in collaboration with Livestock & Dairy Development Department Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK)organised a one-month “In-Service Artificial Insemination (Refresher) Training Course”for livestock assistants from AJK
LAHORE (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th October, 2018) The Department of Theriogenology of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore in collaboration with Livestock & Dairy Development Department Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK)organised a one-month “In-Service Artificial Insemination (Refresher) Training Course”for livestock assistants from AJK.
UVAS Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani and Director General Livestock & Dairy DevelopmentAJK Dr Matloob HussainRaja co-chaired the concluding session of workshop on Friday and distributed certificates among the participants while Prof Dr Nasim Ahmed,Prof Dr Mian Abdul Sattar, Chairman Department of Theriogenology Dr Amjad Riaz,Course Coordinator Dr Aijaz Ali Channaand many Artificial Insemination (AI) professionals from AJK werepresent. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Masood Rabbani urged the trainees to apply their knowledge in practical field and contribute to the uplift of livestock sectors in AJK.
He said that the aim of the training was enhancing livestock production in Pakistan through Artificial Insemination techniques.He also asked to participant about the skill and knowledge which they learnt from this training.He asked the participants about the precautionary measures adopting during AI to control zoonotic diseases. Dr Matloob Hussain Raja acknowledged the UVAS role to conducting training for the capacity building of AI professionalswhich is the key to increasing livestock productionfor thepoverty elevation of poor masses of AJK. He saidDepartment Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) is taking step to monitor (AI) professional practical work in fields for the facilitation of poor farmers. Earlier Dr Aijaz Ali Channahighlighted the importance of the course.
