Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) To Launch Short-courses For Working Journalists

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will soon launch short-courses for working journalists, facilitating them to further strengthen their professional skill in relevant disciplines.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2018 ) :Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will soon launch short-courses for working journalists, facilitating them to further strengthen their professional skill in relevant disciplines.
According to the University's Department of Mass Communication, these courses are being introduced on the instructions of the Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui.
Eminent media personnel will be invited to conduct these face-to-face short-courses.
These will help in capacity-building of the media personnel.
The Department has already prepared outlines of these courses, which will be three-month duration.
The courses include Scrip writing, Post-Production, Videography, and documentary.
AIOU has been providing bachelor, Master, M.
Phil and PhD level education in journalism since 1987. The University's graduates are now working in various media Houses on important positions.
For the last three years, the University was running two-year degree program in tv production, that was well-received by the members of the Electronic Media.
The Vice Chancellor attached high importance to media, which has now emerged as most strong social institution to service the society through education.
AIOU is actively engaged in disseminating research-based knowledge to the public and the end users through the support the journalist community.
A special quote for the working journalists was also fixed in the recent years at the level of M.Phil and PhD to accommodate the working journalists.
