Country Facing Illiteracy, Injustice: Shafqat Manhmood

Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood Thursday while underlining the two major issues of country, said that those are illiteracy and injustice.
He stated this while addressing the Conference on "Reclaiming Pakistaniat" based on the theme of"Pakistaniat" held here by the Center for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS) in collaboration with International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI).
The aim of this Conference is to channelize the young generation towards the main stream of nation building for their contribution as an active and beneficial member of the society and to motivate the youth to rejuvenate the old spirit of"Pakistaniat".
Shafqat Mahmood said that the rich and poor should be given uniform education system and justice.
He said "we salute to the martyrs of our security forces for sacrificing their lives in war against terrorism, adding; "we had sacrificed more than 60,000 precious lives in this war".
"We want peace in Afghanistan. we want to see end of war in Afghanistan. we want peaceful relations with India but the world is watching the human rights violations by Indian forces in Jammu and Kashmir" he added.
He said that literacy rate has been dropped from 60 to 58 percent. He underlined the need of a uniform education system for publi, private and Madrassah schools to forge unity among nation.
He said that Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam are our heroes.
Recalling the memory of 1965 war and wining moments of cricket world cup 1992, the minister said at that time the passion of unity among nation was brilliant.
We have an Islamic heritage and history which creates the passion of Pakistaniat. This land, languages and region is ours which called Pakistaniat.
