The district administration has started implementation of a plan to ensure the admission of all special children to special education centres to impart them education.
This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Dr Syed Bilal Haider while addressing a meeting held here on Friday. He said that district administration will launch an awareness campaign for the parents of the special children about the education of their special children.
He added that the two special education schools would be upgraded to high school level in the district besides constructing their own buildings of the special education schools.
He said that two more special education schools would also be upgraded to high school level in 2019 to provide the quality special education to the local special children at local level.
Deputy Commissioner said that it has been brought into the notice of the district administration that a large number of the special children were being kept at their homes by their parents, as the parents were reluctant to send them to the special education centres. He asked the concerned officials to launch a drive to motivate the parents of the special children to send their children to the special education centres for their proper education.
DC added that the district administration would provide all the basic facilities including free uniforms, books, school bags and Rs.800 monthly education stipend to the special children besides free pick and drop facility to the special children.
