University Of Sargodha (UOS) Syndicate Takes Important Decisions

The University of Sargodha (UOS) Syndicate, in its first meeting for the year 2018, took important decisions including issuance of show cause notices to four sub campuses established under public-private partnership for flouting laws and regulations, governing the setting up of campuses.
SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2018 ) :The University of Sargodha (UOS) Syndicate, in its first meeting for the year 2018, took important decisions including issuance of show cause notices to four sub campuses established under public-private partnership for flouting laws and regulations, governing the setting up of campuses.
The meeting was chaired by the Vice Chancellor UOS Dr Ishtiaq Ahmed. The Vice Chancellor briefed the syndicate members about ongoing educational, research and development activities at the university campus, says a press release issued here on Saturday.
The meeting decided to take necessary actions under PEDA Act against former Chairman Sociology and former Chairman Hall Council Dr Ghulam Yasin, former acting Registrar Mudassir Kamran, former Incharge English Department Assistant Professor Azhar Parvez, Assistant Professor Horticulture Dr Arshad Mukhtar and others who allegedly misused their powers, practiced professional apathy, involved in financial misconduct and flouted laws and regulations.
In the meeting, procedure to nominate and appoint in-charge and chairman of different departments at campuses under public-private partnership was formulated while service confirmation of several employees of the university and salaries of employees working on various projects and posts in Engineering Department were also given approval.
The syndicate, besides granting approval for establishing a standardized printing press at the university, approved the appointment of Dr Zahoor-ul-Hasan Dogar as Chairman Department of Biochemistry, Sargodha Medical College and Dr Masood as Chairman Department of Mathematics.
In light of complaints from various institutions and public about the quality of Khushaab water, the syndicate ordered to immediately remove Incharge Khushaab Mineral Water Project Athar Choudhry and Incharge Industrial Unit Muhammad Iqbal from services.
The meeting also prevented the commercial sale of Khushaab water and ordered to sale it only on University Medical Complex & Research Center and University Canteen. Taking actions on various applications, the meeting issued orders to revise service scale of Dispatch Rider from 07 to 11.
Additionally, the syndicate also gave approval to launch inquiry against Former Principal University Law College Dr Usman Hameed and Assistant Registrar Umer Hayat for their absence from duties.
As per recommendations of the inquiry committee, the meeting issued orders to dismiss Dr Taha Nazir of Department of Pharmacy from his services. The meeting of the syndicate was attendant by consultant Higher education Commission Dr Mehmood-ul-Hasan, Vice Chancellor Government College University Lahore Prof Dr Hasan Amir Shah, Vice Chancellor Government College Women University Faisalabad Dr Noreen Aziz Qureshi, MPA Malik Muhammad Waris Kalo, MPA Dr Nadia Aziz, President Foundation for Development of Education Hafeez Ullah Khan Niazi, Additional Registrar UOS Chaudhry Izhar-ul-Huq and Deans of various faculties.
