SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Jan, 2018 ) :Eminent Neuro-physician Dr. Karta Lal has underlined the need for adopting an effective strategy against increasing cases of migraine and preventive measures.
The migraine headache usually aggravated by daily activities such as walking upstairs leads to nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, facial pallor, cold hands, cold feet, and sensitivity to light and sound commonly.
Speaking in an event organized by the Inter-Global Human Development Society (IGHDS) on Monday, he said that a typical attack lasts between 4 and 72 hours.
Adding that an estimated 40 percent to 60 percent of migraine attacks are preceded by warning symptoms lasting hours to days and the symptoms may include sleepiness, irritability, fatigue, depression or euphoria, yawning, and cravings for sweet or salty foods.
Dr. Lal said migraine attacks commonly activate the sympathetic nervous system in the body and this system is often regarded as a part of the nervous system that controls primitive responses to stress and pain.
