Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah Directs To Complete Health, Education Schemes On Time

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed the health and education departments to complete their hospitals and school schemes within stipulated time, otherwise strict action would be taken against the project directors concerned.
He said this while presiding over a meeting to review progress of 73 development schemes, said a statement on Monday.
The meeting was attended by Minister health Dr. Azra Pechuho, Minister for Education Syed Sardar Shah, Chairman P&D Mohammad Waseem, Principal Secretary to CM Sajid Jamal Abro, ACS Health Dr Usman Chachar, Secretary Education Qazi Shahid Parvez, Secretary Works and others.
The meeting discussed the progress of District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Dadu, 15 comprehensive schools, 16 English medium schools and 41 emergency-cum-Trauma centers.
Chairman P&D Mohammad Waseem told the chief minister that seven THQ/DHQ hospitals have been accommodated in ADP 2019-19 with an allocation of Rs 18.2 billion against which Rs 9.6 billion have been utilized so far.
The Secretary Health told the chief minister that eight DHQs TM Khan, Tando Allahyar, Kotri, Shikarpur, Sanghar, Mirpur Mathelo and Naushehroferoze would be functional by December 30, 2018.
He said that five DHQs, Mirpurkhas, Dadu, Matiari, Umerkot and Kamber would be functional by June 30, 2019.
The chief minister was told that out of 41 Trauma Centres 11 would be functional by September 18.
The chief minister directed Mohammad Waseem to review the work along with the Sindh Secretary Works in each and every unit and report him in terms of their progress and submit the report within 15 days.
Secretary School Education Qazi Shahid Parvez told the chief minister that 16 English Medium Schools were being constructed in different 16 districts at the cost of Rs 4.7 billion while 15 of these schools are ready to start and the school of Hyderabad was yet to be completed.
The chief minister issued directives for the inspection of the buildings and sought report within 15 days.
Secretary School Education Qazi Shahid Parvez said that construction of 15 schools for Rs5.7 billion was in progress.
These schools are being constructed at Thatta, Bathoro, Golarchi, Hyderabad, Matiari, Kotri, Umerkot, Tando Allahyar, Mirpurkhas, Ubauro, Shahdadkot, Kahirpur, Dadu, Sanghar and Nawabshah.
He said that out of 15 schools six are ready while work on others was in progress.
The chief minister directed chairman P&D to visit the schools and report him about their quality and pace of work.
