AJK EC Declares Schedule For Bye Elections LA-19 Ponch Sudhnoti-III

AJK Election Commission (EC) has announced schedule for bye election in LA-19 Ponch, Sudhnoti-III constituency to be held on December 30, 2018. The seat has been lying vacant due to death of MLA Sardar Khalid Ibrahim Khan.
Addressing a press conference here, Senior Member of AJK Election Commission Justice Retired Abdul Rashid Sulharia said that polling would be started from 8:00 am up to 05:00 pm.
He said that District and Session Judge Ponch has been appointed as District Returning Officer, Additional District and Session Judge Hajira appointed as Returning Officer while Tehsildar Rawalakot has been appointed as Assistant Returning Officer.
He informed that 92,427 voters were registered in LA-19 Ponch including 49,455 male voters and 42,972 female. He said that 169 polling stations and 232 polling booths have been setup in the constituency.
He said that candidates can submit their documents up till November 30 while the scrutiny of documents would be held on December 1, 2018 at Election Commission office.
The list of the candidates would be placed on the notice board on the same day.
The appeals against the rejection of nomination papers can be submitted on December 5, 2018 before 12:30 and the hearing of appeals would be made on December 6, 2018. The final decisions would be made next day on December 7.
Justice Retired Abdul Rashid Sulharia said the candidates can withdraw their papers on December 8, before 2:30pm and nomination papers list of the candidates would be displayed on the same day. The candidates would be allotted election symbols on December 10.
He said the candidates taking part in the elections have to submit the details of their assets on stamp papers in AJK Election Commission Secretariat before submitting their nomination papers.
