Speakers at All Pakistan Hurriyat Conference (APHC) on Tuesday have underlined the need for consistent efforts till the elimination of illegal occupation of India over Jammu and Kashmir, freedom and right to self-determination of Kashmiri people.
Addressing the participants of round table conference organized by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference in memory of the largest catastrophe of human history of Jammu and Kashmir occurred on November 6, 1947.
Besides APHC leaders, a large number of writers, experts and leaders from different parties also spoke on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement leader Abdul Majeed Malik said that despite passing of seventy years, the incidents from abuses range to mass killings, enforced disappearances, torture, rape and sexual abuse to political repression and suppression of freedom of speech are increasing day by day.
The conspiracy in the Jammu was occurred by the Dogra army with support of Hindu extremist organizations, he added.
Kashmir was the only reason of conflict between Pakistan and India since last seventy years, he said adding that the issue can only be resolved through giving the right of balloting to Kashmiris.
India was making effort to settle Bihari people from around the areas of Amritsar, Punjab, Delhi into the Jammu with an aim to increase the number of non-Kashmiris, he lamented.
APHC senior leader Muhammad Farooq Rahmani said, "We have moved from 20th to 21st century, but unfortunately yet we could not achieve the real targets of the sacrifices of 1947 martyrs".
He criticised the International community for not paying attention over long standing and the most important issue of Kashmir.
Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) and senior leader of Muslim Conference Sardar Saghir Chughtai said that international media have also proposed that dialogue as only resolution of Kashmir issue.
Senior Hurriyat leader Muhammad Hussain Khateeb said that during the last seventy years they have lost more but earned nothing in this connection. The incidents like November 6 were being repeating, he said. He warned of a huge loss if the freedom movement could not succeed.
He said that the Kashmiris were being banned by Indian forces to watch Pakistani channels adding their educational syllabus was also being changed.
Pakistan should not show any weakness regarding Kashmir issue as it could loss the movement, he said.
Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Abdur Rashid said that freedom movement in Jammu was alive due to martyrs of 1947. Despite all out tactics, the Indian forces could not succeed in the Jammu and Kahsmir, as it has been accepted by the Indian experts several times, he added.
Around 7000 youth from Pakistan had sacrificed their lives in war against Indian forces in Jammu and Kahsmir, he said adding that AJK had more than 300,000 retired army personnel who are standing behind the Jammu people.
Defence Analyst Brig (retd) Samson Simon Sharaf also highlighted the core reasons behind the Kashmir issue and said that the world has no example of any freedom movement like Jammu and Kashmir.
