ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Oct, 2018 ) :Indian police arrested a delegation of Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami when it was on its way to Handwara to express solidarity with the family of Dr Manan Wani in Indian occupied Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the delegation comprised Khadim Hussain, Khawaja Maqbool Magami, Gulshan Abbas, Fayaz Ahmad, Muhammad Imtiaz and Afzal Bahar and lodged in police station, Sogam in Kupwara district.
Meanwhile, the patron of Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement (JKMM), Farida Behenji in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned the killing and torturing of innocent Kashmiri youth by Indian forces. She said the people of the territory are rejecting the so-called civic polls and in revenge the authorities are victimizing the Kashmiri youth.
The spokesman for Muslim Democratic League Jammu and Kashmir in his statement in Srinagar expressed concern over the plight of political detainees in different jails of India and the territory. He said the plight of detainees is also an eye-opener for the international human rights organizations.
The spokesman said Kashmir dispute is a reality and the use of brute force and illegal arrests by Indian forces could not suppress the ongoing liberation movement. He said that total boycott of the sham polls in the territory had proved that the people of Kashmir only wanted their birthright to self-determination.
