Development work is in full swing in various uplift schemes related to works and communications, health, industry, agriculture, livestock, planning, power development in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Dec, 2018 ) :Development work is in full swing in various uplift schemes related to works and communications, health, industry, agriculture, livestock, planning, power development in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

According to official documents, the ongoing projects in AJK includes 48MW Jagran-II Hydropower Project to be completed by 2020, Nauseri-Leswa Bypass road 52 killometer and Authmuqam-Karan bypass road 40km, Rathoa Haryam Bridge across reservoir, Medical College Mirpur, Muzaffarabad Medical College and work on Legislative Assembly AJK.

Other ongoing projects including water supply and sewerage schemes in Mirpur City and other hamlets.

Meanwhile, senior officials of AJK Tourism and Archeology Department said that Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has declared 2019 as "Tourism Year" to promote tourism sector in the valley.

They said that in this regard all the departments have been conveyed to organize activities for promotion of tourism sector in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The officials said that 'tourism Calendar' of the tourism promotion events for 2019 would be issued to each department.

Azad Jammu Kashmir offers beautiful tourists spots including unique valley, mountains, pasture lands, rivers, streams, brooks, glacial lakes and forests. The government also recently introduced e-facilitation including smart card solution at entry points, mobile app for tourist and sms service via cellular networks to facilitate tourists.
