70th Death Anniversary Of Quaid-e-Azam Observed Across Country With Solemnity

The 70th death anniversary of the Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was observed Tuesday with due solemnity and reverence all across the country.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Sep, 2018 ) :The 70th death anniversary of the Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was observed Tuesday with due solemnity and reverence all across the country.
In Karachi, special prayers were held at Quaid's mausoleum. Governor Sindh, Imran Ismail and provincial chief minister visited the mausoleum and offered fateha for the father of the nation. Members of Sindh cabinet were also present on the premises wreaths were also laid by the dignitaries who also paid glowing tributes to the founder of the country in the book placed on mazar premises.
The gates of the mausoleum were opened for the general public, who visited the mausoleum to pay homage to the departed leader.
Many of the schools had special arrangements to bring their students, after prior permission of the Quaid e Azam Management board, so as to rekindle spirit of respect for the man who along with his team of selfless workers managed to get an independent state, against all odds for the Muslims of the sub-continent.
Meanwhile, Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani in his message on the occasion, said that the nation needed to remember consistent struggle of the father of the nation to get separate homeland for Muslims. He urged the people to follow Quaid's principles of Unity, Faith and Discipline.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, in his message on the occasion said that Quaid's vision of development of Pakistan was a beacon of light for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
He said that dream of the Muslims of Subcontinent of an independent homeland was materialized under the dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
"We are living as an independent nation today because of him," he said adding that Quaid-e-Azam was a man of principle and a courageous leader who dreamt of establishing a society based on the principles of tolerance, forbearance and brotherhood.
He said the motto of Unity, Faith and Discipline of Quaid was guarantor of progress and prosperity of the country and Pakistan can get rid of all crises by following his golden principles.
"We will have to utilize all our energies to make the country prosperous", the chief minister added.
In Lahore, the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust (NPT) marked the 70th death anniversary of the Quaid with traditional zeal and fervour. The main function was organised at the Aiwan-e-Karkunan-e- Tehreek-e-Pakistan wherein dua for the departed soul was held.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairman NPT Professor Dr Rafique Ahmed said the nation could only move forward by following the teachings of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammmad Ali Jinnah.
Chief Justice (retd) Mian Mahboob Ahmed said the Quaid was a man of words. He stressed action, which is the only way forward to make Pakistan a developed state.
Provincial Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal stressed national harmony to develop and grow.
Among others who spoke on the occasion included Justice (retd) Khalil-ur-Rehman Khan, Iftikhar Ali Malik, Begum Mehnaz Rafi, MNA Dr Seemi Bukhari, Ghulam Mohyuddin Dewan, Dr Ghazala Shaheen Wyne, Qayyum Nizami, Professor Humayun Ehsan and Shahid Rasheed.
In Hyderabad, the day started with the special prayers in the mosques for the departed soul. Different organizations and educational institutions had also arranged special seminars and ceremonies to pay tributes to the Quaid for rendering valuable services for the Muslims of the sub-continent.
Several public and private organizations as well as educational institutions arranged functions to highlight different aspects of the life of Quaid-i-Azam, recalling his vision and indefatigable struggle for a homeland for Muslims of the Subcontinent.
In Bahawalpur, faculty members and students of Islamia University Bahawalpur paid rich tributes to the Quaid in an event held to mark the day.
Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice-Chancellor in his message said that this day imposes paying homage to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah whose progressive and vibrant outlook paved the way for the creation of Pakistan.
He added that we encountered ups and downs in our history after Pakistan came into being but we pulled through all the times. As compared to 1947, today's Pakistan is much developed and prosperous, he said.
Meanwhile, in New Delhi (India), the death anniversary of Quaid-e- was also observed at the Pakistan High Commission. The officers and staff of the High Commission offered Quran Khawani for the Esal-e-Sawab of father of the nation, a message received here from New Delhi said.
Rich tributes were paid to the vision, fore-sightedness and unflinching resolve of Quaid-e-Azam, which culminated in the successful struggle for freedom and creation of Pakistan as an independent and sovereign state.
Pakistan High Commissioner Sohail Mahmood on the occasion said the Quaid's principles and vision served as the guiding light for the nation.
He said the leadership and people of Pakistan remained dedicated to building Pakistan in linewith the Quaid's vision based on a modern, progressive, democratic and Islamic welfare state.
Special prayers were offered on the occasion for a strong, stable and prosperous Pakistan.
