PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jan, 2018 ) :Central Secretary General of Awami National Party (ANP) Mian Iftikhar Hussain Friday said that his party welcomed extension of Supreme Court and Peshawar High Court jurisdiction to Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and held it as first positive step towards merger of Fata into Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa (KPK).
The ANP is a democratic party and will not be part of any move aimed at derailing democratic process in the country. The present KP government of the PTI is the most inefficient and incompetent regime in the history of the province, he added.
The ANP leader expressed these views at public meeting held in connection with preparations of arrangements for death anniversaries of late Baacha Khan and Khan Abdul Wali Khan here at Pabbi on Friday.
Mian Iftikhar Hussian reiterated that the ANP would not allow any move to succeed against the democracy.
He called for early merger of Fata into KPK. He said that general elections were round the corner and urged the party workers to get ready for the elections as the people of the province were disappointed from the performance of the PTI government.
If we work in a coordinated and disciplined manner then nobody could snatch victory from us in the 2018 polls, he added. For saving democracy the ANP supported the no trust motion in Baluchistan Assembly as we believe change within the assembly is a democratic process.
Today democracy was in danger in the country and what happened in Baluchistan was a part of that conspiracy, the ANP leader added. He said that conspiracy was on to dissolve the Baluchistan Assembly as CM KP Pervez Khattak has already hinted at dissolution of the KP Assembly. There were also same sign in Sindh, he added.
