CM lauds LEAs for coordinated work, ulema, citizens for cooperation

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Oct, 2016 ) : Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday appreciated the untiring efforts and close coordination of Police, Rangers and intelligence agencies to maintain law and order during Muharram Majalis and mourning processions.

`You have performed a wonderful job and owe me a word of thanks for your coordinated sincere efforts', he remarked. This he stated while addressing policemen at CPO he visited this evening on the last leg of his day-long visits of three divisions, Karachi, Sukkur and Larkana.

The chief minister visited command ND control Center established at the CM House to watching the movement of the processions developing in different parts of the city. By the time IG Sindh, AD Khowaja, reached and they left for visit to M.A.

Jinnah Road where he was received by DG Rangers. The Director General Pakistan Rangers Sindh, Major General Bilal Akbar, briefed the chief minister about the deployment of Rangers, his security plan and coordinated work among different law enforcement agencies.

The chief minister talking to media at M.A. Jinnah Road where main mourners' procession taken out, said that he was personally monitoring the implementation of security plan worked out by LEAs with their collective wisdom.

`We had discussed the security plan of Muharram in our high level meeting held at CM House and was attended by DG Rangers, IG police, provincial heads of intelligence agencies and other concerned in which the plan was approved', he said and added he had been visiting the routes of processions and majalis himself to ensure proper security arrangements.

Syed Murad Ali Shah just after visiting M.A. Jinnah Road flew to Jacobabad where he was received by MNA Aijaz Jakharni, provincial minister Mumtaz Jakharni, MPAs and senior officers at Shahbaz Airbase.

The chief minister drove to the `Memorial of Martyrs' earmarked to remember the Shuhda (martyrs) killed in the blast detonated in Muharram ul Harram last year. He offered fateha for the departed souls and then visited USAID- sponsored hospital, Jacobabad Institute of Medical Sciences (JIMS).

He visited OPD, emergency wards to review healthcare facilities and talked to the administration of the hospital. He vowed to make the hospital one of the best hospitals of the province. The chief minister just after visiting routes of procession in Jacobabad took an aerial view of processions and security arrangements in other cities.

Syed Murad Ali Shah who was accompanied by IG Sindh A.D. Khowja, Special Assistant Dr. Qayoom Soomro, took aerial view of processions taken out in Shikarpur, Khanpur, Larkana, Khairpur, Rohri and Sukkur and then landed at Sukkur Airport where he was received by provincial ministers Nasir Shah, Jam Mehtab Dahar, MNA Nawab Wassan, Mayor Sukkur Arslan Shaikh and others.

The chief minister just after holding a short meeting with Commissioner and DIG Sukkur alongwith IG Police flew back to Karachi. He landed at old terminal and from where alongwith IG Police flew in his helicopter to take aerial view of procession marching on Karachi's M.A.

Jinnah Road where small processions had merged into the main procession. Just after his visit he landed at Commerce College and went to Central Police Office where he was accorded guard of honour.

Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah went to Command & Control Center at CPO and witnessed the movement of the procession. He was given detailed briefing on the monitoring system developed there.

From the archives, the chief minister was also shown the footage of blasts, looting and plundering, bike snatching and road accidents. He assured the IG Police that he would upgrade their Command & Control Center.

Syed Murad Ali Shah also inspected mobile surveillance system established in a bus which works as a complete OB van. The Mobile Surveillance bus is equipped with CCTV cameras and helicam (drone camera).

The chief minister appreciated the efforts of IG police for making all out efforts to maintain peace in the city. The chief minister returned CM House and thanked the citizens, Ulema and law enforcement agencies for their cooperation to maintain peace in the city in general and in the province in particular.
