
Coordinated Efforts Stressed To Eliminate Dengue

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th August, 2016) : Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Azmat Mehmood has stressed for coordinated efforts to eliminate larvae from hot spots, red-marked union councils and wards. He issued these directives while presiding a meeting to review anti-dengue activities being carried out in Rawalpindi on Saturday.
DCO, Rawalpindi Talat Mehmood Gondal, ADC (G) Nazia Perveen Sudhan, ADC Arif Rahim, AC City Maleha Jamal, Khalid Goriya, heads of government departments and allied organizations attended the meeting. Commissioner Rawalpindi laid emphasis on improving coordination among all departments engaged to combat dengue and said that due to humid environment it is feared that dengue larvae can increase.
He said it is necessary that situation could be monitored properly. He also enquired about the dengue surveillance outcomes in different areas and directed that practical measures could be adopted to get the targets.
He said dengue is a serious matter and needs full attention to address the issue. DCO Rawalpindi Talat Mehmood Gondal informed that nonstop efforts were being carried out to achieve positive results of dengue control. ADC Arif Rahim informed that both thermal and cold fogging was being applied in those union councils were dengue larvae was found.
