Court Grants Last Chance To Accused For Appearance In Axact Degrees' Case

ISLAMABAD, Oct 7 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Oct, 2022 ) :The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday granted last opportunity to accused Shoaib Sheikh for appearance on appeal against his conviction in Axact fake degree case.
Chief Justice Athar Minallah, hearing the case, remarked that the court could consider to withdraw suspension of accused's sentence if he failed to appear on next date.
During hearing, FIA's Prosecutor Ishfaq Naqvi adopted the stance that the accused was not appearing constantly before the court. However, the defence lawyer said that his client couldn't appear this day due to sickness and also submitted his medical report.
At this, the court directed the accused to appear on November 1, and adjourned the case. It may be mentioned here that a trial court had awarded a 20 year imprisonment sentence along with Rs1.2 million fine in the case. The decision was suspended by the IHC on the appeal of the accused.
