CTD Punjab Launches Crackdown Against Terrorism Financing

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab launched a massive crackdown against terrorism financing
According to the CTD spokesman here on Friday, funds collectors of proscribed organisations, including Jaish-e-Muhammad and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, were arrested.
The accused were included Muhammad Zahid and Irfan Ahmad of JeM Gujranwala, Zafar Iqbal of JeM Rawalpindi while Hanzala and Hamza of LeJ Lahore besides Ijaz Ahmad of LeJ Multan were also arrested.
The collected amount had been recovered from them and cases were registered against the accused.
No member of any proscribed organisation would be allowed to collect funds for financing terrorism and extremism. They would face trials in anti terrorism courts for committing offenses of terrorism financing, the spokesman added.
