District Election Commissioner Naushahro Feroze Urges Youth To Get CNIC, Register For Vote

On the occasion of National Voters Day an awareness seminar titled "Mera Vote Meri Phachan" and "Mera Vote Meri Taqat", was held on Friday.
According to a handout issued by the district information office, the seminar was organized in Government Degree Collage Naushahro Feroze to educate targeted citizens about importance of vote and exercising their right to vote in elections.
District Election Commissioner Naushahro Feroze, Khalid Ahmad Mirza briefed the participants about political and electoral system as well as the electoral process and said that democratic process could be strengthened by casting of vote by every individual.
He urged people to come out of homes to exercise their right to vote on the Election Day. The DEC stressed youth to get their CNIC and enroll themselves in electoral rolls. He said that they could get information about their votes by sending message on 8300.
If their Names were not in voters lists or not on accurate addresses they can register their votes according to address given on their CNIC.
The DEC informed that only government employees were allowed to register their votes at the place of their posting while other citizens were bound to register their votes at addresses given in their CNIC.
Last date for registration or transfer of vote had been fixed as December 31, he informed and advised citizens to register or transfer their votes before that date.
Later, a rally was taken out from Government Degree Collage to Press Club Naushahro Feroze to highlight importance of vote. The DEC Khalid Ahmad Mirza, Election officer Ali Dino Charran, Assistant Director Local Government Khalil Ahmed Mamon, Principal Government Degree Collage Prof. Khalifa Muhammad Afzal, and Prof. Nizamuddin Tunio, Prof. Abdul Waheed Dahri and college students and citizens participated in the seminar.
