FJWU Students Urged To Join Anti-corruption Campaign

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Sep, 2016 ) : The students of Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) were urged by Director General National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Awareness and Prevention on Corruption, Aliya Rasheed to join the anti-corruption campaign of NAB and emphasized on vital importance of women's role in fighting corruption.
Delivering a lecture on NAB's proactive effort to encourage girls to identify and report corruption here on Thursday at FJWU she spoke about various forms of corruption and the damage it is causing in the society and recalled Quaid-e-Azam's saying that corruption is a poison and we must put it down with a iron hand.
She said, Every Pakistani should know that corruption is the mother of all our ills, which has given birth to nepotism and favoritism and has negated merit, transparency and accountability. The youth have the vigor and zeal to take the country to glory and excellence.
We can, and will, win the war against corruption. Aliya asked the girls to play their role in curbing the menace of corruption from the society. She urged the students to identify and report corruption.
She further said, Young people including girls are important agents of change in the fight against corruption.
Youth have the power to change the social, political and economic dynamics that underlie a resigned acceptance of bribery and other forms of corruption.
It is the duty of young persons particularly females to prevent their family from corruption. the DG said. She said, the FJWU students can play an important role in fighting corruption and save the country from this menace.
While mentioning the steps taken by NAB to create awareness, she said the slogan �Say No to Corruption� has been printed on postage stamps, utility bills, CNIC carrier papers, driving licenses, Coloring Books for school going children, ATM Machines, Railway Tickets and Airport Screens, to spread the message to everyone.
A story book has also been published where character Gogi is also saying "No to Corruption". Speaking on the occasion, FJWU Vice Chancellor Dr. Samina Amin Qadir lauded the efforts of NAB for creating awareness among the youth including girls.
