PESHAWAR (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Aug, 2017 ) : Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engr Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said effective measures were underway for development of health sector with special focus on establishment of model hospitals in each tribal agency of Fata.

This he stated in a meeting with private partners at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad on Monday, says an official statement here today. Fida Muhammad Wazir, Additional Chief Secretary, FATA, Vice Chairman Dar ul Sihat Hospital & Liaqat Medical & Dental College Karachi Dr.

Ali Farhan Razi, Executive Director Dr. Shahzad Alam, CEO Zia-ud-Din Hosptial Karachi Dr. Faizan and other concerned officials were also present on this occasion. Exploring possibilities for initiating joint venture projects in collaboration with private entities in health and education sectors especially came under discussion.

Talking on this occasion the Governor said, it is our utmost effort to encourage public-private partnerships with the aim to offering better health care services and educational facilities to the respective people.

In fact, he added, to developing healthcare and educational facilities of desired standards in tribal areas is our top most priority and we would welcome productive contribution of private sector as well for this purpose.

At the same time, he added, we are also doing our best to ensuring result orienting role of the public sector in FATA. The Governor directed the concerned authorities of FATA Secretariat to extend their fullest cooperation to making useful joint ventures between public and private sectors for having quality healthcare and educational facilities in FATA.

Meanwhile the representatives of various organizations present on the occasion apprised the Governor of their functional capacity and capabilities for becoming partners of the public sector towards promoting healthcare and educational facilities in FATA. APP/fam/mkz
