JUIF Support Enhances Winning Chances Of Shahbaz Sharif In Swat

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jul, 2018 ) : Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Chief of his own faction of JUIF, withdrawn his candidate from NA-3 Swat in favour of PMLN President and former Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif owing to seat adjustment between the two parties.

The dramatic change in the constituency improved chances of Shahbaz Sharif to make a serious dent in the NA-3 Constituency previously own by PTI Salimur Rehman in 2013, said a senior journalist, Haroon Siraj hailing from the constituency.

Maunala Fazl withdrawn ticket from his candidate, Maulana Hujatullah and forbid him from contest election against Shahbaz Sharif. However, Maulana Hujatullah revolted against the decision of his party chief and decided to contest election in an independent capacity.

Shahbaz Sharif and Maulana Falzur Rehman are expected to visit the constituency in a few days to offset the impact of dissident Maulana Hojatullah who revolted against the decision of the party Chief.

The disgruntled Maulana Hujatullah moved the Election Commission for seeking 'book' as electoral symbol for the election from NA 3 Swat, however, the Election Commission has turned down his request and allotted him 'wrist watch' as electoral symbol to him.

The PTI had won all the national and six out of seven Provincial Assembly seats from Swat district in 2013 elections. PTI retained its former MNAs Murad Saeed and Salimur Rehman from NA-3 and NA 4 (former NA 29 and NA 30) from Swat district for the upcoming elections.

PTI's Salimur Rehman will face Shahbaz Sharif from the constituency comprising Upper Swat.

A survey conducted by this scribe of the constituency revealed that PTI with five years Government on its back in KP may not a score which it had in 2013 and defiantly other parties will make inroads in Swat district in the July 2018.

Some of the electorates complained that both PTI former MNAs had ignored their Constituencies in last five years, therefore, the ground was not most suitable for them this time compare to last election and will have to face herculean task in the hands of Shahbaz Sharif and Amir Muqam. Shahbaz Sharif will cash on "Nawaz Sharif Kidney Hospital," the Punjab Government constructed in Upper Swat in the upcoming election as this health facility provided state of the art medical treatment to the kidney patients of the far flung and remote areas of the constituency.

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had inaugurated the kidney hospital after his name during his visit in May 2016 and addressed a huge gathering on the occasion.

Similarly, PMLN Government also constructed some roads and energy projects in Swat district which the facilitated local population to a great extent. It is not clear whether the PMLN projects would give any dividends to Shahbaz Sharif to cash it on July 25.

Moreover, the electorates also complained that Swat district, called Switzerland of Pakistan still faced the same problems as was existed before 2013 as PTI government failed to address the core issues of the Swat districts pertaining to promotion of tourism, improvement of road infrastructure and other civic problems.
