ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Sep, 2017 ) : The Islamabad High Court sought reply from Ministry of Interior and State Bank of Pakistan in a plea seeking deletion of name of Masroor Nawaz Jhangvi, MPA Punjab from PP-78 Jhang-II, from fourth schedule.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani issued notices to respondents while hearing the plea moved by son of Masroor Nawaz Jhangvi. During the course of proceedings, Tariq Asid counsel for the petitioner argued that Masroor's name was included in the fourth schedule in 2014 despite that Jhangvi was not involved in any terror activity.

He alleged that the interior ministry sealed Jhangvi's CNIC rendering him unable to open and operate his bank accounts. The counsel apprised the court that Masroor had never been convicted under any criminal offence nor nominated in any case that's why Election Commission of Pakistan had declared my client eligible for contesting the elections.

Tariq Asid requested the bench to direct the respondents to remove Masroor's name from the fourth schedule. After going through the arguments the bench issued notices to the respondents seeking their reply in the petition and adjourned further hearing of case till November 6.

The petitioner cited the secretary interior, the secretary home department Punjab, chairman National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) and the governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) as respondents.
